The Truth Behind The Serzone Lawsuit

The Serzone lawsuit began in the early 2000s and currently shows no signs of abating as the row over who should shoulder responsibility for the severe liver damage that a high number of individuals that had taken it seem to be suffering rages on. The finger of blame has been pointed at manufacturers Bristol-Myers Squibb, and at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) who failed to pull it from the shelves of pharmacies everywhere when the first signs of severe side effects presented themselves.

The first Serzone lawsuit took place some years ago now and was taken out against the manufacturers of Serzone and the FDA in response to negligence and endangering lives on both of their parts. It is hard to say how far either is responsible, but then neither one actually made any attempt to protect the consumer in any way. Serzone was endorsed by both as a high quality product, and it cannot be argued that this was not misleading in any way when people have died as a result of prolonged use. However, they did not take it over a period of years but months, and this was the thinking behind the Serzone lawsuit to begin with.

Serzone has been found to serious impair the body's ability to function, but in fact it was popular because it did exactly the opposite. Other anti-depressants had impaired an individual's ability to be sexually active whilst on medication, but the formula of Serzone actually encouraged it. On two tablets per day, and a dosage of between 300 and 600mg, patients with depression usually never felt better. Serzone seemed to be their miracle cure, and this is exactly why the initial Serzone lawsuit had a strong base to build upon. The majority of patients trusted the drug. Serzone was branded safe and did not give any indication that it could potentially impair an individual's ability to live a healthy and normal life later on in their lifetime. In fact, Serzone was so good a product that it was impossible not to like the way it made someone with depression feel.

The Serzone lawsuit shocked many taking the medication, but it has not stopped some individuals from seeking it out over the Internet. Most drugs are readily available from online pharmacies, as well as on the black market, which is why there may be odd Serzone lawsuit cases continuing throughout our lifetimes.

The truth behind the Serzone lawsuit is that it was initially started because the government, in this case the FDA, badly let the public down. Serzone was not safe and had never been safe, and yet it was allowed to go on general sale to those with a prescription without prior warnings or notice. Other drugs have been turned down approval for much less. Even a petition failed to change the FDA's mind, which begs the question as to why Serzone was passed in the first place. Is it the money aspect that has kept it on sale for so long? Nobody will ever know.
